I saw and it and I immediately knew I had to have it. It was $12.00 but 50% off. Then I bargained for it and paid about $5. I found it on Ebay for about $50. And now it hangs in my den by the TV. Here it is and some history to go along with it.

Artsy Fartsy-Valentines' Day
So I joined my friends' Facebook page, Artsy Fartsy. The idea is to make ATC trading cards to swap. The theme is Valentines' Day. I made mine. But it just became three dimensional. So I am back to the drawing board for a more traditional flat one.
I am sure I can find someone who needs this for Valentines' Day.

off to celebrate my birthday early...
You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
Mom and Dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday...
I told them I wanted all four of us to go to Winstar and gamble.
So we are off and I have birthday money in my pocket.
YEA!

Queen
This is how I feel in my craft room.
Seriously.
I allow John to come in but I HATE for him to touch anything, turn on the TV, or mess with the computer. But my attitude changes quickly
when I want him to hang something on the wall or get something off a high shelf.

photo frame
Saw this photo and loved the photo frame. How inspirational! I have so many little trinkets that I have no idea what to do with them so I think I will make my version of this frame.
I will share a photo with you soon.

Swanky photo
This is my Friend Nicki. She is amazing. I saw her at the GASC and commented on how much I loved her hair. Then I saw her at the stamp convention and talked to her again. I even took a photo of her hair. It is funny how "birds of a feather--flock together." And now she is my amazing friend who likes to create and shop with me.

Art with Jana in December...
I was looking at my files and I forgot to post Art with Jana photos for December. The assignment was to make Christmas trees using triangles cut from scrap paper. The shelter residents did an amazing job. Here are two of my favorites.
My favorite sample made by a resident. |
My favorite was made by my husband, John Martin. |

Jan. at the shelter...
It's was cold outside and I did not want to go volunteer.
But the shelter needed me. So I went to teach art at the shelter.
It was a night...the dinner volunteers didn't show up so pizza was ordered, there are 107 residents since it is so cold outside, we started latte, and none of them wanted to be in art class. And my classical music didn't help much but I struggled on.
I taught facial proportions which was what I was taught at THE JP GETTY in LA. I had everyone do a pre-and post drawing and here is a sample.
Can you see the difference? I ended up having a great night.

El Corozon
Right before we left for LA, I entered my art into a juried exhibit titled, El Corozon. Got an email and the exhibit has changed but I think my art will be on display at Eclectic Expressions starting Feb. 12th. I will have three pieces on display. I am very excited. I can't wait to get some feedback.

Art at The Getty
Went to the JP Getty Museum today in LA. I just happened to be there on the day of a free art class. I eagerly signed up and ran to the gift shop to get some supplies. I learned about facial feature placements. The teacher taught in a gallery with priceless art and told us to look at the work for inspiration. I was so happy as it was a once in a life time experience.
