my heart hurts...

Count my blessings and not my sorrows...but Friday we had to surplus 5 teachers and one paraprofessional.  Some took it well and some broke down and cried. 

 And then a friend told me some sad news too. 

My heart hurts as I am all cried out.

Mardi Gras Lay out

This year John's Office Christmas party was changed to a New Years Party. 

 The theme was Mardi Gras and this is my layout. 

We had so much fun with a live band and king cake.

Went to Hachie this weekend and just had to have this stuffed heart from THE ARTIST-Kelly Rea Roberts.  Love her work.

I can remember making these in elementary school.  The teacher wrote our name in cursive and we spent hours coloring it.  So at the shelter---we listened to classical music and colored for almost an hour.  The residents thought I was crazy but I promise you they were more relaxed when we finished.  See the examples below.

I went to find a recycling art shop...got lost and drove around for about an hour....but I found this cool shop and then went home.

El Corozon Art Exhibit Opening Reception Sat., Feb. 12

Join us for the group exhibit featuring works by several local artists. As always, the event is free and open to the public. El Corazon artists will be in the South and North galleries.

Bad day today...

Today was a bad day. 

Arlington ISD announced budget cuts and three staff members got their notice today. 

And more are expected. 

 Sad times ahead.   

Super Bowl Day 2011

So the big day is here. 

Wymore has her ticket and will cheer for the Steelers.  Sigrid has her ticket and will cheer for the Packers. 

 I took sides and bet $5. on the Steelers. 

Walking in a winter wonderland...

My neighbor took this photo from her front porch and I think I will make it my Christmas card 2011.  It is suppose to get above freezing today so I may run some errands.  Don't worry---John will drive. 

Snow Day #4

Can you tell we haven't left the house since Monday?

She misses Joel at GONP. 

Bought a piece of paper in OKC and cut the girls out and have been making V-day cards ever since.

I am sending this to my favorite red haired girl.  I know she will love it!

Asian New Year!

I bought an Asian inspired jacket this summer and my mother altered it and I want to wear it to school today but this is our third snow day. 

So Asian New Year here I come--next year!

Ground Hog Day!

I just love special days. 

I think that is one GREAT thing about working in an elementary school.

This is the tag that TIM HOLTZ made and then signed at GASC in June 2010.  I took a frame and some of my favorite paper and matted it and now it hangs in my scrapbook room.  It makes me smile everytime I see it.  Love you T!M!
