John's 38th birthday!

So I asked John what he wanted for his birthday?  He wanted me to go up to his office and help clean and organize it. It was so easy and so much fun!  Photos below:
John's office

His office rug that we bought at an estate sale.  I can't tell you how good it looks in his office.

His bookcase.  Notice the TCU items, horse hair pottery, and gumballs.

Executive John!

We bought this chair at an estate sale.  John says that people are afraid to sit in it.
If they only knew that we paid pennies for it.  :)

MDA lock up

Today the police came and got me and sent me to jail.  However, the jail was Hoffbauer Steak House.  I sat down and called all my friends and family to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Thanks to all that contributed.

The car ride over was wonderful!

Here I am behind bars.

Mabel on display

On Saturday, John and I took "Mabel" to Waxahachie to be on display at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, Texas.  "Mabel" was submitted as a tag to represent "our artistic journey" for the Artistic Journey Weekend in October.  It seems odd to have her on display.

Super Frog

TCU cookie

My friend brought me this TCU purple frog cookie.  It looked great but tasted even better.  Thank you.
Busy week.
But now it is the weekend.  TCU plays Baylor this afternoon.  I e-mail the superintendant if he wanted to make a wager on the game and he quickly emailed me back and said only if I would give him 14 points.  I did not reply but Go frogs!

Painstains

This is what my art table looks like after I paint on Monday night. I just love all the colors and the randomness of it all.  I think this is a visual representation of how my brain fires.

Terrell with firefly

This is artist Terrel with Firefly.
I gave it to him.  I thought he would like it.
He probably thought I was crazy.  But he came back the next week and painted with us.

teaching Mabel to draw

So I had a brilliant idea.
I would teach Mabel to draw.
I gave her one of my best pieces of card board, markers, crayons, etc.  I told her draw a pic. of herself.  She told me that she did want to draw that and she thought she could draw a flower.  So she drew a flower floating in mid air.  I asked her how she was going to anchor it to the page and then she said that she wanted to draw peace symbols and write words in bubble letters.  As you can imagine...I was about to loose it when our time was up.  She had to go back to class.  I told her to take the drawing with her and finish it at home.

Pink Chair

I found this on a website.  I would like to give the artist credit but I don't know who created it--I do know that it is way cool.  Very inspirational. Also, the pink chair reminds me of a chair at my grandparents estate sell.  It was large and round and pink and I wanted it.  But I had no money and no place to store it. But I wonder where it is now...

Denver's art

This summer I read the book, SAME KIND, DIFFERENT AS ME.  This art dealer thinks he will befriend a homeless man and teach him lots of things and it turns out that Denver teacher Ron tons more.  It is an amazing book based on a true story set here in Fort Worth.  Here is some of Denver's art.

Cowtown Indie Bazaar

On Saturday, I went to the Cowtown Indie Bazaar in Fort Worth.  I found great parking and great finds....but the best was spending time with my friend, April.

Baby Campy

This was taken not long after we brought her home.  She brings so much joy to our lives.  This is one of my favorite photos.  She chewed up this pink bug and we had to get another one.

Tracy

Monday night paint night was not going well.  I was trying to force my self to make a masterpiece and I just can't force my art.  But when I finally decided the night was a total waste and I started to just play....Tracy appeared out on nowhere.

Teachers playing in the halls

So one of our teachers has has knee surgery and must use this electric scooterto get around the school.  So I asked if I could take it for a spin.  I can't tell you how much fun it was to drive!  I drove around the school's halls and had to yell for the small kids to get out of my way.....this photo is another teacher on the scooter.  All I have to say is that I am going to have to rent one the next time I am at Canton.

Stalker photo

Okay...this might just be my last photo of Tim.  I used Picnik software and created this great image.  John reminds me that they have laws about stalking.  :)

Journey

THE GREATEST SONG EVER CLICK HERE

New patio furniture...

Do you like the new patio furniture?  I bought it because it reminded me of the white aluminium patio furniture that my parents have had all of my life.  I can remember being very young playing on them and breaking off the chair legs. I can't even recall how many times my parents have had to take the chairs to get them repaired.  Thank goodness my wild days are over.  Let's just hope my pieces last as long and create just as many good memories.

Chirstams is around the corner...

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas"....Can you believe that there are Christmas decorations in the store.  I was just getting into Fall and Halloween and then I see the Christmas stuff.  How many more

shopping days?
But love the vintage stuff in this cart.

Glee

Love the show.  Love the songs.  Love the characters.  So I must admit it.  I am a GLEEK.

Project Runway...Season 8

Tune in and see the biggest cat fight amongst creative people.
John and I look forward to Thursday night and watch this show religiously.  I am not sure which one of loves it more.

Friday the 13th wedding

Went to a wedding on Friday the 13th.  I saw this amazingly cool cake topper and just love their humor about life.I love you Mr. and Mrs. Double Wide.  It is an inside joke-don't even ask.

Creative Process

These are so cool.  Tim gave each one of us one for our curio cabinet.  He said that Mario couldn't believe how much they costs.  I just want to know where he got them.

My actual canvas...

This is my actual canvas that I made in Tim Holtz' class on Saturday.  I had a great time after I got checked in, and after they found my name and after they found me a name tag....I hate disorganization.  He is a very good teacher and the supplies were prebundled and his PowerPoint slides were good.  He walked around and talked to us during the class.  He is amazing!

Gurls....part one

I did a series of girls...they seem to haunt me now.  And this one is the first one I wanted to post...Notice the blog stamp.  I just learned how to use PICNIK to edit a photo.  The best thing about PICNIK is that it is FREE.

Mario, Tim, and Me in Dallas

These are my two favorite men.
Mario (the business partner and Tim's assistant) and the scrapbook GOD, TIM HOLTZ!

Hey..Soul SIster

This is the song that kept playing in Tim's class and I just keep humming it...
Hey, hey, hey

Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains

I knew I wouldn't forget you, and so I went and let you blow my mind

Your sweet moon beam, the smell of you in every single dream I dream

I knew when we collided, you're the one I have decided who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!

Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...

General Nunley

I knew him when he was Officer Nunley.  I knew him when he was Sgt. Nunley.  Now he is Lt. Nunley.  I just call him GENERAL NUNLEY now.  Please overlook the hair....it was Friday and I was having a bad hair day and used a headband.

Mockingjay---in stores now.

I got my book.
It has been a terrible wait.  But I already have the key chain and pin. There are about five teachers reading the book and so I am off to read...
