My Favorite Veteran

ALL GAVE SOME,
SOME GAVE ALL
My favorite veteran is my father.
He fought on the USS Iwa Jima during Vietnam.
At school we do a huge Veteran's Day celebration and program and we got all the students and staff to fill out the cards for their family members that served in the military.
See mine above.
Thanks DAD!

Because of you...

I take long walks because of you.
 Dog.
I enjoy passionate kisses.
My arrival home is celebrated.
Road trips are an adventure.
Because of you, I have a true companion.

the artist...

1.Why do you scrapbook and how would you describe your scrapbook style?
I scrapbook because I am convinced that as I age I will loose my memories.  So my scrapbooking is my memory keeper.  I would describe my style is funky junky vintage.
2.How long have you been scrapbooking?
I have loved paper and stickers for as long as I can remember.  I think it all started with scratch and sniff stickers in the 4th grade.
3. Favorite paper line?
Love anything Tim Holtz but also love SASSIFRAS.
4. What size do you scrapbook?
12 X 12 or bigger
5. Do you make cards?
sometimes...but I either love it too much to mail it or hate it and then refuse to mail it.
6. What camera do you use?
My Cannon Elph is always in my purse.  Love it!
7. Favorite stamp?
paint splatter that I got at the Rubber Stamp Convention in January 2010.
8. Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere...I love nothing more than an idea popping into my head.
9.  Is your scrap area messy or neat?
MESSY!
10. Hand journaling or computer?
I hate to look at my handwriting.  Have I mentioned that I got Ns and Us in handwriting in elementary class?  So computer text.
11.  What is your favorite scrapbook color?
depends on my mood---but always pink for Campy and never blue.
12.  Most used scrapbook tool?
Tim Holtz TONIC scissors
13.  Are you a slow scrapper or a quick scrapper?
FAST--I want to be a perfectionist but I just have to admit that I am not.
14.  What is your favorite quote?
It is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog,
15. Give us your favorite tip?
Just let go and listen to your inner self.

November Art

I was so tired on Wednesday night...I picked up Campy and went home and took a nap.  But afterwards, I drove to the shelter and taught an art class.  Since it is November--The Month of Thankfulness, we made thank you cards.
using chip board as a stencil

We use Elmer's glue.

My favorite couple.  They exchanged thank you cards.

This shows the art set up in the cafeteria.

Thank you card.

This thank you went to the shelter.

Globes

Saw this art piece in Waxahachie.  Love it so I found me some globes destined for the trash can.  You have no idea how hard it is to bust them open.  I chiseled.  I drilled.  I cut.  But the best way is to bounce it on the ground like a basketball.
I have a trunk full of them.  I just hope John doesn't find them.

Vina's 30th birthday

I started this at Artistic Journey and broke apart the album.  This page of the album has Ten Second Studio metal on it and then I put a bible verse on it.  I hate looking at my own handwriting but knew it would make it more meaningful to her.  Vina has it hanging by her desk in her classroom. Love her!

Junior League Weekend

John and Sue

Mom and Me

A beautiful tree with lots of pink decorations.

Jana and her 8th grade Spanish teacher, Lisa.
So I had a great time at Shopping in the City on Friday with work friends and then drove to Waco for Saturday's Vintage Christmas.  I had a great time with my mom, mother-in-law, and John.  We shopped 'til we dropped and then crawled to Ninfa's.  Great memories.

Love junk sales

Yes...I love junk sales. estate sales, garage sales, yard sales, etc.  I love to find old things that other people think are trash but they turn into my treasures.  So I was so happy when my mother invited me home to Waco for Vintage Christmas.  I am so excited and we have matching shirts to wear.  Green with reindeer.  And did I mention that I am going to Holiday Magic on Friday with work friends.  I am sooooooooooooooo looking forward to this weekend.

Day of the Dead

Love the skeletons and the idea of checking on our loved ones' graves.
In my family it is called, Tour of Graves
Commonly known as, ALL SAINTS DAY.
